I had been excited about this one for a while. The opening of the new Peak 2 Peak gondola system, an engineering marvel, connecting two mountains at their 
mid - stations, Whistler and Blackcomb. I am sure most of you have heard about the latest incident at Blackcomb with the unfortunate situation of their main gondola breaking down. This was not the new Peak 2 Peak, but the Excalibur - running out of the village and providing access to Blackcomb.
The Peak 2 Peak breaks several records for its engineering and in just the sheer magnitude of the project. Spanning over three kilometers between stations, it's now the longest horizontal gondola on the planet. It's kind of like riding in a helicopter - minus the noise from the blades, and provides an eagle's eye view from the gondola.
